Is SDU going to have a stand at the motor show in 2006?
I have been sent an info pack, and if SDU is going to have a stand it would be a good idea that a site is booked.
Remember this is free for clubs to have a stand and members to display their cars.
I would be happy to help organise a stand again if needed

Skyla if you are interested and as you did a good job last year do you want to organise it.  I will help you again if you want me to.  I won't be able to attend this time as I will be in Aussie on the Gold Coast relaxing and of course checking out the Skylines over there, hehe.

seeing as it's free go for it!  Auckland team will have it's hands full with four and rotary show plans which we are looking to attend,  so if The hamilton crew can put together the Motorshw stand that would rock!  I'm going to try and make it down again this year, as last year that weekend was fairly busy for me.

Ok I'll get the paper work done in the next week, What I need to find out is how many people would like to display their car and which day/days they are prepared to put their car on the stand, last year we had booked in for 8 cars per day over the weekend of the show.
Should I book the same number in again this year?

Hey no problems, we aren't just after show cars just a good cross section of different members cars no matter what they have, we had our R32 on the stand last year stone chips and all, your GTS25T is heaps nicer.

yep but I have driven about 12,000km's in it since August and I really only wanted to add between 10,000km and 15,000km to the clock before getting rid of it. It is an awesome machine to look at and drive but I have to upgrade due to the way I have purchased it, I need to ensure that my daily driver is less than 5 years old and this GTT is a 1998 model which makes it too old. It's a pity really because now I have to consider the V35 series which is completely different car altogether. In saying that, finding a black 350GT manual coupe has been such a mission, and I am still looking...

Hey guys,
I'm doing up some spec sheets for everyone on the stand.
If your name appears on the list above PM me your email and I will send a blank spec sheet.
I'll also attach my spec sheet so you can see the sort of layout I'm after.
Once you've filled it out email it back to me and I will print them all off and bring them to the show with me.

I'm starting early so there ain't a rush at the last minute!

Cheers
Shane

Title: more motor show info
Post by: Skyla on January 25, 2006, 11:56:54 AM
Sites this year
I have just received some more info on the show, this year our sites will be D6, D8, D10 and D12 right beside the main pavillion, if you would like a site map please email me at skyla01@xtra.co.nz and I'll send you a map through.

Extra tickets
If you are going to be taking friends with you to the motorshow, tickets can be pre-ordered at a much cheaper rate of $5 per ticket. If you are displaying your car at the show, remember your ticket is free, this offer is only for passengers that you are taking with you. If you are wanting to order tickets please let me know the number of tickets you are wanting, and email me on skyla01@xtra.co.nz so we can arrange payment of tickets required, these must be paid for before 2nd of febuary so there's not much time.

Top club site prizes
This year the NZNMS is holding a competition for the 3 best club sites, SDU is hoping to enter. If you have ideas on a theme for our club display please let GZZMOS or myself know.

Any other questions please contact me skyla01@xtra.co.nz
I will be sending a newsletter out in the future to the people attending with details on what to bring etc, if I haven't got your email address please send it to me.

Cheers
Rach

Could ya flick me an email with the site map Rach, starting to think about what we can do with the site.
I can draw it up with cars etc to see how we are for room.
Looks like we are sitting at around 7 cars each day, this might give us some space to do something.....

P.S. I'll try to remember to bring some of the spec sheets etc, or my computer, and the short shifter to the meet on Sat.

Title: Last minute changes
Post by: Skyla on March 16, 2006, 10:31:55 AM
Hey Guys,
I have just had an interesting phone call from the Motor show organisers, our sites have been changed due to another club pulling out of the show. We are no longer going to occupy sites D6, D8, D10 and D12. The new site they have given us is huge, and isn't split into 2 parts. The new site is just along from the old one now we have been given sites D10, D12 D14, D16 and D18. We should be able to set up a pretty good display now that we have the extra room:)

Guess we could have extra props now, hmm if we work fast, very fast we might be able to pull something extra together,
Ideas please

I've got a RB25DE intake manifold if it's of any use, Having trouble with the exhaust it doesn't want to play nice.
