Title: SDU Dyno Day
Post by: R33_400R on June 14, 2010, 07:51:47 PM
Hello To All SDU Members :)

Well we have set a date in stone now.

The 1st 2010 Dyno Day for SDU (Long Over Due)

This will be held on the 31st July 2010
We will be kicking off at 9am
and will run untill we run out of cars ;)

This is open to all cars not just skylines, but please remember if we dont get numbers it makes it very hard to hold events like this so please get your mates together and lets make this a huge event (we are trying to get radio coverage aswell)

and please Keep it all legal, no skids, no funny business and if you dont have rego and warrant don't drive your car down, bring it on a trailer

This will be held at Dyno Power Tauranga for more info about them check out.
http://dynopower.co.nz/
and you can find them here http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

More details to unfold as things progress and we plan more and more.

But we will be holding a fundraising BBQ for the club(so we can hold more events).

we are also holding a Game, "Guess the KW", for a $2 coin you will be able to guess what you think a Stock R33 manual coupe GTS25 will pull on the Dyno.
The Person that guesses the closest will win a prize pack at the end of the day.

Sponsor pending we will have prize packs for
Highest KW 4wd, Turbo and N/A
Highest KW 2wd, Turbo and N/A
and a bit of a blooper prize pack for lowest KW (excluding game car of corse)
we hope to have the blooper prize with a few things to help the winner get a bite from the mod'ing bug :)

Prices are as followed
Pay on the Day 31st july 2010
2WD $50.00
4WD $60.00

Prices include Air/fuel ratio reading

Thanks guys and look forward to seeing you all for a great day out.

Will see if I can make it, that month is going to be a ridiculously busy month for me.  Might come up in a Honda to make it a more economical trip if its an option haha

If all goes to plan, I may be able to bring down a freshly tuned motec run GTR! It would be interesting to take KW punts on that!

Otherwise, expect me in the Stagea!

Come on all Aucklanders! Put this event in your diary and start putting money aside now to cover costs; lay off the Maccas, cut down on the booze and ciggies and you will easily save at least $20 a week over the next 6 weeks. That's $120! Share petrol costs with mates who will want to see some excellent examples of Sklylines on the rollers and no doubt give you a hard time! Let's throw down a challenge to the BOP/Waikato lot and make this a fantastic event!

All going well, I will be bringing down my motec tuned R33 midnight purple VSPEC! You will not want to miss the show!

I'm from Welly, but this comment got my attention.  This weekend I have a send off for a mate about to lose his freedom (LooneyHead's woman is about to spawn their first offspring), next weekend is busy, the weekend after is a mates birthday party, the weekend after that is my sisters 21st, the weekend after that is a mates birthday party, the weekend after that is mine, and the weekend after that (if I count good) is the dyno day, the weekend after that is a ski trip.  My wallet is cowering :(

AWESOME, iirc yours is the one that last time I saw it had a T78 or T88 dangling off the side of the block?  I saw "RB25" mentioned so maybe I should bring the R33 and make sure its in a good mood.

Since you taking the Purple beast down if all goes to plan I could follow you down in your 260 instead of my 260 HAHA

Just got back from 5 week Europe trip and got a bit of coinage left over so its looking good...

Still a good opportunity to check the a/f ratio.... Make sure its all running safe :)
Also if you do sell it, it may help a sale if its running good with decent power!

changed my spark plugs today (mission btw) so shes alll ready :)
had a real nice colour on them so my af ratio will be sweet. will be interesting to see the curve though. 100kw should be reasonable for rb20de no?and still gota request time off work :S

live4liners : Years back when I had my R32 GTS, I took it on TP dyno.... 94rwkw from memory. It was 100% standard except a pod and cold air intake. Apparently the guys on the day were surprised at that figure and thought it was a 25DE.
(Just to give you an idea of what it may make :) )

Post by: Skyla on July 19, 2010, 10:48:00 PM
100rwkw for a RB20DE would be very respectable, I've saw a nicely modded R32 GTS make 108kw a few years back, so it could be possible.

Doesn't look as though my RB30 will be ready in time but I'd like to come and see the other cars. If you're short of entries I might stick my bog standard worn out $500 Diamante in to see if it can beat any Skylines!

Yeah, put the holden on I've always wondered what sort of power those super charged commys put out at the treads.

They have average power.... I remember my old R33 ate one alive! I'd expect 150-160ish rwkw and they are heavy!

I havent pulled out! I never said I was going in the first place lol. I'd love to go but the car is in need of repair :(
