General Skyline Discussion / STOLEN: Nissan Skyline R34 (JGTC)
« on: March 26, 2012, 09:39:32 PM »
Just another quick update.

Although I try to forget what has now been lost, I get reminded constantly of what has happened. In spite of my loss, i've got good news. 2 people have been now arrested. One of which will indefinately be locked up after their trial on account of 26+ charges.

I would just like to say thank you to all those involved and who have contributed to the capture of these low life scum. Although I will never see my car again, it's good to see a community out there are willing to take more action than most. I received numerous calls from the public, days after the theft to keep me updated on the situation. Many of you even took time to report and notify the police every time someone gathered new info.

What was my loss, turned out to be something great. Two scumbags locked up and a third trial for youth court.

For that I am greatful.

The internet wins again.

And many thanks to those who contributed. I really appreciate it.

I just hope those thugs get what they deserve.

Ok, so as some of you have seen in the Noisy Pink Bubbles there's been a minor update.

I've made a report with the police, with their name and photos of them unlawfully taking my vehicle.

I have also informed CLIC insurance about the situation. If the police do decide to proceed with laying charges, the insurance will find means to get the money they lost an will refund my excess.

Anyway, CLIC have made a single exception in allowing me to buy back the vehicle which i'm sitting on the fence at the moment.

So if there's enough interest for R34 Sedan parts (Check link below), I will buy the car back.

Thanks Stalker but just got sorted.

I have just returned from the police station and they depending on the pics they will determine if there's enough reason to proceed.

Excess is unlikely to be recovered through police. But if they catch the culprits, I sure as hell will be reporting them to the insurers as well.

Will keep everyone updated.

Thanks guys.

Does anyone have a printer they can print off the images? I can pick up and will head over to the police station and report them.

Police dropped the investigation weeks ago when they had no further leads.

My excess is $2,750. I will recover that if not more for the damage caused. Insurance will deal with them if all goes to plan.

My cell is 021 134 1987 if you need to contact me

No price indication.

AMI are going bankrupt. Therefore I believe from what i'm told, they are trying to get as much as they can for damaged vehicles.

Serious though, i'm not sure if i want to buy it back right now. Need to mull over it for a few days.

I just came back from AMI.

Interior has blood from the theif.

3 of the GTR wheels are ****ed. Brand new Bridgestone tyres + Fully refurbished + Brand new centre caps (I now have a spare set of the used ones if anyone needs them).

Car turns over but dies. When it does hold idle it smokes like crazy. Most likely caused by the hard landing the car suffered. Sump is dented as well from what I can see.

If you think the car doesn't look bad it's because it crashed over a barrier went mid air and landed. Underbody damage is vivid.

I called insurance (CLIC) and since they are part of the AMI group, I will not have first option of purchasing back.

It is up for tender, but to be honest the car is ****ed. Drivetrain will make a very good paperweight.

Thanks Ian.

Brett i'm not even angry about this stuff anymore, i'm just so over performance cars now. A part from the race car, I will never own a Skyline or similar type of car.

Took the day off today. Hopefully can bring my worse for wear buddy back home.

Will access the damage and see where I sit with insurance after I send out the paperwork.

And yes you would have seen my car. I drive my car unlike most people who keep them in garages.

Unfortunately, it's situations like this that make me over cars. My next car will hopefully be a VE SV6 commodore

Westybob, yes I will discuss with the insurance about buying it back. As I know I can fetch a lot for the parts.

Sectiplave, I will have to see the interior first to see if the f*ckwit ruined anything. If it is as I left it, it will be in prestine condition.

We'll see mate. I haven't even got the car back yet nor will I till next week.

Coupled that insurance probably won't pay out till for a month, things will not be moving fast :(
