Naturally Aspirated / Re: Port and Polish - Any good services in AKL?

My advice would be to stay away from hytech... And I would look into what the rb30 guys in Aussie are doing. Running single can heads for 8 second passes.
I'm using a rb25de head with 13psi with 400rwkw. I've heard of plenty stories of small gains for huge porting costs...

Waikato / BOP / rb26 into cefiro information....
« on: November 19, 2013, 08:59:37 PM »
Hey thanks for the responses, it used to run a rb20det.... I have a friend who's an autosparky but he's estimated it to cost $1g....

I was planning to have it all going and on the track for skids sometime in December....

Hey Clinton, if your able to give me some DIY instructions I'll give it a whirl, I know things like the speed sensor needs to be from a skyline to read correctly on the gauges, I have the resistor pack for the gtr injectors, just would like all the accessories work as well.

Thanks guys

Did anyone go to power cruise and take there video camera??

hi there members!! i'm sure this has been covered here quite a few times already but i'm unable to find it..... so hence this post!! :dude

I have an a31 cefiro and a rb26dett I accidently won on trade me a while back.

I have got the complete engine and now modified gearbox to 2wd, I have 2 standard wiring looms (rb26) and was wondering if it's possible to wire the engine to the car without too much drama's??

is a mission to wire up?? if so could you recommend someone in the waikato region to do it for me??

all info on this would be greatly appreciated....

my last post was about my rb30 in my r32, turned out costing $6500.00 from one tuner and another $2500.00 from another tuner to fix the first tuners stuff ups!! :spew:
pm me if you want the best tuner for rb's!! :dude

thanks

Forced Induction / rb30det tuning issues.....
« on: June 27, 2012, 10:07:42 PM »

so heres a quick update on where we are today with my rb still at the shop.....

i've spoken to some tuners who have described the problem being something like a rag in the intercooler piping or exhaust after the turbo, but my tuner thinks this isn't the cause!!

we have eliminated the valve spring question as apparently the rb25de head has 2 different heights of intake and exhaust spring and the r32 gtr has just the one height but in comparisson its minor.

the latest issue seems to be the oil pressure..... for some reason the gauge reads off the factory scale consistantly so the engine maybe hydraulic somewhere???

so the oil pump may have to come off....

i will keep you up to date, and hopefully the problem will be fixed sooner rather than later!! :-)

3 bar map sensor, we've run the boost controller before without issue's... just heard from rob and he suggest's it won't be the valve springs we've installed previously as they've run over 25psi using them on others engines.

Forced Induction / rb30det tuning issues.....

it's just got the usual,

forged pistons and rods, 840cc injectors, a couple of fuel pumps, garrett gt35r turbo with 0.86 rear housing, 3.5" exhaust, tial wastegate 38mm (small), greddy profec e01 boost controller, using a microtech ltx12s (this could be the major problem!!) :splat:

it's not showing detonation it just hits a flat spot..... i have cosidered throwing this engine into another car and putting my rb26 engine in but thats destined for the drift car....

i have had alot of previous problems with cas sensors jumping around but they think it could be a engine issue??

hey guys, thanks for the response. :dude

the wastegate spring is at 14psi, it's externally gated, it's running a crap ecu but thats shouldn't be an issue, the exhaust is big enough, and i'm using gtr valve springs (i heard factory rb25de springs we good for less than 14psi), i've had the last tune at 18psi but the ecu needed a bigger map sensor, so now thats all sorted. currently getting 300rwkw's i wanted to achieve 400+ as i have everything there to do it.

i had my rb25det engine tuned by another company a few months ago and they were running it at 18psi on a factory turbo, must admit it was only running around the 200rwkw's though. :boohoo:

hi there,

i currently have my skyline being tuned.....

however there having trouble setting the boost any higher than 14psi!! :headbutt:

i was planning to run around 28psi. :splat:

they have tried different cas sensors, coil set-ups, ignition set-ups etc, but are un-able to locate the issue....... now they tell me the internal valve springs aren't strong enough, but im honestly not convinced as we've had my last engine boosting at 18psi without issue!

so any ideas would be greatly appreciated, as my bills getting alot higher as time rolls by. :spew:

Suspension, Steering, Braking, Wheels & Tyres / drift knuckles.....
« on: January 07, 2010, 12:08:57 PM »
hi there, i was looking for some "drift knuckles" now i've no idea if thats the correct name of them, but basically they sit behind the front wheel and are a modified hub to increase the steering angle from 35' to something like 50'. i would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction. thanks :headbutt:
