General Skyline Discussion / Re: To RB26DET/T or RB30DET/T Conversion
« on: July 08, 2015, 11:05:33 AM »
Please define "don't have a budget"? Is it because you don't know the costs or is it that you have ample to go for a build of your choice? The 2 options here are two ends of a large spectrum.

Have a look on RIPS website to get an idea of prices for professionally built motors.

The question you need to answer is:

- what do you intend to get out of your build?
- what is your aim?
- what is your budget?

The rest will become easy from the above answers.

As westbob said, make sure your return is to the surge tank and the overflow back to the main tank.

Also, if you are running only 260kw, why do you need a surge tank?

Check with an LVV certifier. I am pretty sure they need to be certified. I hope you don't have an airbag steering wheel. If you do, then its a NO NO to change the wheel.

There's no way I would weld any spacers to any rims.

General Skyline Discussion / Help Needed

Hi guys, I am wondering if you lot can shed some light on what this part is that sits just above the injectors on a RB26 engine. Seems it has air and water in it. I have marked the part with red arrows in the picture. I would like to know what it does? I also need to know if the 2 pipes, circled in green in the picture, that attach to this part are removable and can be reinstalled? Why I ask is because mine seems to be sucking in air from one of the pipes. I would like to remove the part and reattach the pipes so they don't leak. The sucking in air is pretty loud and can be heard when the car is idling.

Your help will be appreciated.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Don't even attempt to.

She is running well. Enjoy it.

Auckland and North / Pukekohe Trackday 12 October - Sunday
« on: September 25, 2014, 04:33:25 PM »
Hey guys and girls, a few of my friends have organised a trackday at Puke on Sunday the 12 October. It is $100 per driver. There will only be 30-40 cars on this day as we want to maximise the track time rather than make money from the trackday. WOF and Reg required. If you have any other professional race car, we will allow you as well if you have proper paperwork.

Day will be organised to have groups of newbies, amateurs, semi-skilled and skilled drivers.

If you are keen, please PM me.
