Courtesy of Tazdev.........comments extremely welcome.

MESSAGE EDITING:
NEVER edit a message to change its meaning. NEVER edit a message to correct spelling, grammar etc. (some people get offended by this).

Along with any message that gets edited a PM should be sent to that member detailing what has been changed and why.

If a thread has to be tidied up to rid it of nasty posts, first make a copy of it in the moderators section with a reason saying why so that we have a copy of the earlier behaviour before deleting posts from it for the publics benefit.

WARNINGS:
If you see something that you donít like happening (flaming, racism etc.) PM the person responsible requesting that they change their behaviour. Make sure you make it clear that you are a moderator.

The more communication between moderators and members (be it through PM, ICQ, AIM etc.) the better off things will be. There is nothing that annoys people more than not being given a reason for the moderation.

MOVING MESSAGES:
NO threads or posts are to be deleted! They are to be moved into the moderators section with a post saying why.

Any time a thread or post is moved a PM must be sent to the person responsible for the thread / post in the first place advising them that it has been moved and the reason why.

Possible reasons:
- Illegal activity

- Anything in breach of club code of conduct (http://www.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/mod.php?mod=userpage&op=Print)

- Anything that goes against the terms and conditions of the forums. (http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/terms.html)

At the end of the day, if you are unsure of something either put a post up in the moderators section or send an email to Arithon (Jon) jonw@olympic.co.nz. He is on that email address all day during the week so a reply / action is usually prompt.

Any comments / additions that people would like it make, add here to this thread so they can be discussed and implemented as required.

To any of you you went to the Taupo Driver Training you will now know how important it is to have accurate and proper pressures in your tyres.

I've now got a source for some quality Digital Pocket Tyre Pressure Gauges so you dont have to rely on the crappy petrol station ones, or crappy KMart ones.

The gauges will handle up to 120 psi, in 0.5 psi increments.

I will flick a pic up when I get one in, and will bring it along to Sat night meets too.

Cost at this stage is a measly $30+gst

Let me know by replying in this thread.

Cheers

General Skyline Discussion / Problems with old links on forums?
« on: October 29, 2002, 08:34:38 AM »
I've had a user report that they are receiving the forum pages about 4 hours behind what they should be.

Is anyone else having a similar problem at all?

Post here and let me know so I can chase it up if need be.

Cheers all.

Removed, for obvious reasons.

Just a reminder for everyone.

If you have a problem with a post, report it to the moderators so they can deal with it.  If nothing happens when reported to moderators, then report it to ME and I will deal with it.

Do not take matters into your own hands.  Do not slag people off.  Please try and be civil on these forums.

Heya's

Time for some changes!  I am looking at changing both of the moderators for this forum and thus I need two people willing to take up the burden.

Can you guys please help me out by nominating and letting your views heard on who you want to moderate here, in this thread so I can come back next Monday (23rd Sep) and implement the required changes.

Thanks in advance.

Forced Induction / Turbosmart Gated Boost Controller
« on: May 02, 2002, 03:39:24 AM »
Has anyone installed or used the gated boost controller listed at the top of this page?

http://www.turbosmart.com.au/boostcont_aus.html

How well does it hold boost, does it hold it at the preset no matter what the gear you're in and how bad is spiking?

Anyone here in Auckland want to lend one to me for a trial for a couple of hours?

Forced Induction / Pneumatic Boost Control
« on: April 19, 2002, 11:20:09 PM »
Well, I like probably a few of you have tried numerous different types of boost control, with varying results.

We've all done the bleed valve thing which appears to be quite unstable and extremely touchy.

I'm now playing with a system based on the 2nd DIY boost control article on http://www.autospeed.com which is seemingly a bit fiddly, but i will persevere with for now.

I also have an idea of using a variable relief valve tee'd off the wastegate hose to regulate the pressure seen at the wastegate.  A further enhancement would be another similar valve to limit restrict any pressure going to the wastegate until it hits a certain point (8psi) to remove wastegate creep.

Good, bad, other ideas?

Lets get this thread pumping!
