Just wondering if c33 laurel and a31 cefiro rb20e looms are the same including wiper part?

Ok so got the motor into the laurel today went to put the gearbox crossmember in but it doesnt fit? Ive used the rb20e engine mounts and the gearbox is a diesel one i think. I had the rb20e and gearbox im using in a laurel before with the gearbox crossmember and it all fitted fine, but for some reason it wont with the rb25det, is a rb25det shorter than a 20e? If i bolt the crossmember to the body the gearbox mount is to short but if i turn the cross member around it seems to line up right but obviously it wont bolt to the chassis as one side i higher than the other.

Anyone have any ideas on what gearbox crossmember ill need or what ive done wrong

Im just wondering i have a 6 bolt flywheel already, should i get a heavy duty clutch for this? Will it hold up fine? Just basic mods but will get a bit of abuse, or get a 9 bolt flywheel and go down that track?

Is it safe to run more boost through a factory RB25det series 1 motor with front mount and full 3" Exhaust? If so what levels would be the max i should run?

Just wondering if some one could tell me what the minimum thickness for gtst m spec break disks are, front and rear.

Ok so i have had a search and have found a few posts on the age old Rb25det vs RB20det debate but they all seem to be about how much power one can make.
What im wanting to know or at least help making my mind up is what motor will suit my needs the best. The motor will be going in my c33 laurel, and will be mainly used for daily driving, going on holiday with the odd track drag day ect, and will no doubt have a go at some skid comps ect just for fun.
The main thing im worried about with the rb20 is the no low down torque or lack of, is this a major problem or can it be helped by modifying ect.

I have never driven a rb##det powered car before so really have no idea how these engines compare which is why i would like some advice before i go spending my hard earned cash.

As far as power levels go i dont really have a set number as i said above ive never driven one (other than the stock 20e which was a bag of ****) all i want is something i can have some fun in and beable to do some "mean az skidz au":rolleyes:

Was wondering if someone could post a picture of the plug that goes from the interior side to the ecu? I am wanting to know as the laurel i have previously had a 20det in it and they have taken out the engine loom but still has the interior side there. Also if this is the correct plug for a 20det will it be fine for a 25det ecu?

And if all that fails would some one beable to help with a wiring diagram of the wires needed to get all the interior side of things to go with the 25det ecu.

Just wondering if anyone would know what other vehicles interior would fit into a c33 luarel, i have heard that r32 skyline stuff bolts in, what about r34 stuff?

Picture Post / My C33 Laurel Project

Thought i would start a project thread to show what im up to, car is in a few bits at the moment.

Im mainlly focusing on the suspension and breaks at the moment, heres what ive got so far
5 stud and gtst m spec breaks, will be getting rotors machined soon and new pads, you can also see my new sway bar in with new nolathane bushes, sway bar is kei office, sprayed it black as i wasnt a fan of purple, also my BC Gold adjustable struts

Heres a bit of a crappy pic of my rear subframe i have painted up with kei office swaybar and nolathane bushes, R200 LSD Shimmed up nice n tight, will be getting some adjustable camber and toe arms soon once i save some more $$$

Heres the car on stands not much to see, have a URAS kit for it not sure if il run it or not, got it cheap so not to worred, it needs a bit of work few cracks ect. I will be painting the body a dark olive green similer to the factory colour some laurels come with. Body is pritty strait had a donor car i got some parts of as you can see the door and boot are different colour. Havnt found any rust yet apart from top corner of front gaurd, the bolt had rusted in and when i went to unbolt the guard it desided to break so have to drill it out and re tap it, not a major though.

No engine yet will be stripping al this out and tidying it up, will be running a RB25det

Dash out giving all the wiring a tidy up and makes it easier to get the break booster out to swap it over with the m spec one, and put the clutch pedal in, bit of a mess at the moment but its getting there

Thats pritty much all for now will try and keep this updated, hoping to have it going by around May all going to plan. :mexican:

I was under my car the other day putting the subframe back in and noticed that along the chassis rails it looks as if the middle part of the rail has been pushed in a bit, it doesnt look bad, the outside of the rails are fine not bent or anything, just wondering if this is a normal thing or maybe its been hit going over a speed bump or something.
Just wondering as will be going to get cert soon so wondering if i should do something about it now or see how i go?
Anyone with experience with this would be good.

Hey just wondering if someone could tell me what electrical parts i need to do this conversion the car i am putting it into is a c33 laurel, and the motor is a rb20de+t. From what i know i need a 20de ecu from a manual skyline or does it not matter if it is an auto or manual ecu? For the loom im assunming il just buy a 'full' engine loom of trade me, when installing all this how do i get on with the rest of the loom in the car such as lights ect? Is there anything i need to do here to make it all work?
With the injector loom can i use my 20e loom or are the plugs different? Well is there any part of the loom i can use?

Just wondering how many people run these and where you got them from? I was thinking of taking my rubber one out and getting a solid one machined up but was told they are different to the rubber bush, can some one confirm this?

I am talking about these But dont feel like paying that much for them lol
