Off-Topic / anyone know if these radars are any good?
« on: May 21, 2012, 03:42:43 PM »
I have the Cobra touchscreen one which is excellent, especially for only $350. Just turn K-Band off to avoid picking up random signals in town (or use the auto-silent feature, which mutes it under whatever engine RPM you set).

Saved me countless times from very big distances.

Not many cops I've encountered use instant-on, but if they do they generally use it on the cars in front of you also, so thats when you pick them up.

I generally sit above 110 every time I drive. Times I've been busted since I've had the new Skyline- zero.

Times the Cobra has saved me in 6 months- 12+

Worth every penny.

General Performance / Exhaust Questions

Cheers westybob.

Not too worried about a performance decrease, if it helps curb my 14.5l/100km fuel burn!

Just the look.

I prefer suttle.

And I already have an extremely large* penis, so do not need to compensate.

*Penis may not be extremely large

General Performance / Exhaust Questions
« on: April 09, 2012, 09:42:55 AM »
Alright, I know next to nothing about exhausts.

All I know is I dont like the look of the big round thing sticking out the back of my car.

Here's how it looks at the moment:

And I would prefer to go to a stock looking twin pipe setup like this:

The official name is muffler right? Do I just go to an exhaust place and say I want to swap for a twin pipe muffler?

What's that second muffler doing in the middle there?

Finally, anything I should avoid that is going to sound crap? Do I need to go with a good brand? What sort of price am I looking at installed?

Cheers!

Audio, Security and Electrical / Alarms & Installers
« on: April 06, 2012, 09:20:16 AM »
I recently got an AVS S5 installed from a guy off trademe- Marcs Auto Electrical.

The alarm itself seems good. I like the noise it makes. The remote is nice. It has a turbo timer.

Marc was excellent. Took about 4 hours to install, including removing the old turbo timer and alarm, so I'm confident he did a good and thorough install.

I cant quite remember but pretty sure it only cost $500 including install!

Anywhere local to buy both?

I'm in the same boat, front shocks have started leaking. Current setup is stock shocks with lowering springs.

Would like to just replace all four, but not wanting to spend over $1500. Want to keep the car slightly lowered as it is now. Pics below for reference. Not wanting anything that requires a cert. Any decent options or am I better off just keeping springs and getting another set of OEM shocks?

Wait....so he happened to be on this forum reading these posts about him...he wasn't a member....so instead of taking 2 minutes to sign up...he asks you to sign up and post for him?

Just trollin' by the way. Still, you're making this look even more dodgy.

lolwut, where dio people come up with these prices, its probably not worth half of that.

Considering I recently bought a 'completely unmolested' white R34 GTT coupe, MANUAL, NOT ugly arse series 2, LESS km's on the clock, WITH custom grey fitted floor mats, for more like $18,000!

Maintenance & Car Care / Some questions...

My experience with yellow jackets is a failure after 25,000kms and about 9 months.

Replaceable under warranty, but pain in the arse.

RB25DET NEO.
