General Skyline Discussion / Drove a GTR for first time today :D
« on: August 17, 2012, 06:46:31 PM »
Today at work one of my managers allowed me to drive the R34 GTR that came into us about 6 weeks ago.

owner had asked it to be taken for a drive since it had been sitting for so long.

I let it warm up for about 10 mins before we went on the road, then filled it up $20 by owners request.

I then took it to the longest straight, sea view rd.
No cars ahead of me, and started building it up in 2nd... the amount of power is ****ing ridiculous... I didn't just mash it, but built it up...

I've been passenger in a R32 GTR thats been tweaked a bit... but this was ****ing ridiculous.
No such thing as lag...
Don't quote me on this but apparently it has had over 80k spent on it.

I want a GTR :D (still love my R30 though!)

Off-Topic / The first car to be crushed
« on: June 21, 2012, 09:11:55 PM »
Hey guys
You've probably all heard about it, funnily enough my work is right beside the scrappies and I found out they were all go for 10am. (missed out on the actual crush as I had to walk away for a bit)

Also wondering what your thoughts are.

I think he deserves it, repeat offender didn't learn after 2 times, and the fact he kept all the parts from it, what the ****...

Few pics of the crush

Been talking about this at work and thought it'd be a bit of fun on here.
No money problems and you're not limited by anything.

What would you do to your car?

Car: 83 HR30 skyline
Engine: Factory Spec RB26DETT (little tune for around 300kw)
Body: Full panel and paint - 2 tone red/black (and remove the damn sunroof)
Exterior: DR30 sideskirts and Jenesis lip spoiler
Wheels: Rays TE37V 15x9 -0 bronze and tyres to match (no stretching)
Suspension: Shortened shocks and lowered springs (no brand favoured)

How about you lot?

General Performance / Car will no longer start?

Hey guys (i apologize if this is in the wrong section - possibly old school?)

Took my R30 for a drive last friday, tank wasn't empty but id say a 1/4.
maybe a total of 2 hours driving, parked it up for 4 hours, started up again
perfect, drove back home (less then 10 mins) and parked up for the night then Monday morning cranked her over and she couldn't start (turned over but wouldn't fire).

Usually when I turn ignition on you would hear the pump (pretty loud) prime, then it'd turn over first go. now it keeps turning over, no fuel pump noise - haven't had time to do checks for spark and power to the pump.

Checked all the fuses they're fine, my old man went to the extent of unplugging the ECU for an hour and re-plugged her (yay for being at work and not knowing this until I got home **** sakes!)

Im thinking a ****ed pump - my old man thinking relays/ecu

I'm no mechanic/sparky just wanting your thoughts.
I'll end up taking her down to a sparky eventually I think, and let it go from there.

Hey all
I've seen this forum a few times and always wanted to get around to joining up... just recently i had a few of your members approach me and appreciating the car and suggested i jump on and become more active.

(if your reading this the guy with v35 coupe S/charged cheers for the reminder!)

I drive a 83' r30

all standard pretty much, 3" exhaust which has a deep gargle too it, sounds like its always underwater (hence the name)

at the moment just repairing the rough bits and using her as a daily.

-finding parts for these is friggen hard haha
