If I bought an R32 GTS-4 turbo and an R33 turbo (both in manual) and did 5 grand's worth of mods to both (identical mods), which would be quicker?

1/4 mile?

cheers guys:)

Wouldn't the 25t be quicker as it is quicker to start with???

The R33 would be quicker after 5 grand of mods. The RB25DET is more powerful to begin with and is more scalable (up) with modifications than the RB20DET. With good rubber and suspension the diff b/n the 4WD and 2WD isn't much compared to the larger power output of the R33.

Well, around Manfield racetrack in the wet my standardish GTS4 was easily keeping up with standard(ish) R33 GTS25ts in the corners.  However, due to the massive understeer I was experiencing (I'm used to oversteer ... actually I love it :D ) I could not get inside or around them.

When we got to the straights, I had to just sit back and say byebye ... they were pulling out a couple of seconds on me. :(  Braking was the only other time I could bring back the gap a little, but I was braking hard and late. :D

With five grand of mods i think the cars would be fairly even, extra traction when you raise the hp of the 4wd makes a huge difference. Its different if you throw a pair of drags tyres on the back of a 25t. Four 5 grand you would hopefully do very low 13's, maybe even a high 12?

Is it within the reaches of the average person to get a GTS4 into the high 12's?

Or is that just dreaming?

I beleive if you get a t3/4 or a t4 turbo, decent intercooler, fuel pump upgrade and reprogrammed ecu I think high 12's are very possible.

Ah but then you could buy a gts-4 spend the extra money that you would need for a GTR to make the gts-4 go faster than the standard GTR.
