I'm after a good quality sub.

12" which will run well off a low power while i save for another amp.

Can't decide over, JBL, Alpine, Pioneer, Kicker or Fusion.

What does everyone else have and or recommend?

I've used two different sets on MTX subs in the last few years and can highly recomend them.

BUT - it comes down to the sort of music you listen to and also the space you have available.

I personally prefer the pioneer range for their subs. Their 12s are awsome, however I'm not sure how well they handle low power.

Fusion subs go low but they distort really badly and don't have very good sound quality.

Yep I use the pioneer 12" as well. They have good quality and sounds nice... but not too loud... goes well with the system.

"Infinity Perfect" work just fine for me, and have the ability to be mounted in many different enclosure configurations.

Yeah I am using the Infinity Perfects too.  I have two 10 inch subs in behind the rear seats rear firing into the boot.  Great subs cause the boxes for them are so small (great for the Skyline!!).  Polk Momo are the same too, great sounding as well.

Depends on what money you want to spend though!

This is not one of the brands listed, but I've used a Rockford-Fosgate®  (RF) 12" and its good, real good.

well i have a 12" vega v flex and i love it, its not for people who need boot space as it requires a big box but with the right power it sounds nice and deep almost like a 15" but not quite.

Some subs require decent power to drive them properly, now you mentioned that you haven't got huge power to drive it, so what to look for in a sub for your situation is one which has a high efficiency rating, this is normally in dB, the higher it is the more efficient it will be.

Well, I have just done a little research on the net, and what ever sub you are thinking about, just check it's specs on the net. Some subs have a efficiency down around 88dB, bit too low, and most are in the 90's. Pioneer do a 12" one that is 106dB, 400W max and 100W nominal power.

Depends on the frequency response of the speaker, yet another case of checking out the specs. A 12" should provide lower bass than a 10", but you will get more bass with 2x 10" subs, movement of air theory ;)
