I've sorted mine out with a bit of mesh, of the type FRyline is selling.  I bought my stuff for $50 too, ouch!  But I recommend the mod especially at the cost of mesh from Fryline.

Check out my car next time you see me, but I am trying to find my html page that i stored off line that documents what I did.  Will put it up at my site or e-mail Brendon if it's any good for the website mods section.

I have tied mine back and it is now damn hard to pull it. Couldn't mesh just be ripped out with plyers?

as for the mesh being ripped out with plyers.  Yes it could feasibly be ripped out with plyers, but when the bonnet is closed there is not a lot of room to operate the plyers to cut the mesh.  It is possible though, although it is mainly desgned as a hinderence.  If they come prepared with clippers for the mesh they probably have other tools as well.  So it would only ever slow them down.
