rb30 engine parts
« on: September 30, 2004, 09:48:20 PM »
im in the process of building my rb30 and am wondering what people have used for theirs,
i got prices for parts today:
chrome-moly rings $223.30+gst
mains $56.57+
b/ends $47.80+
rb25det head gasket $179.20+
rb30e head gasket 59.16+
these prices are pretty good but i need to know what people have used, is it worth using the det head gasket or is the 30e h/g fine?
are the standy rings fine or are C/M rings needed?
they couldnt get half grove b/e bearings so are standy ones good enough?
also where do you get nismo heavy duty bearings from and what are they worth roughly?
any help would be much appreciated.
(but please if you havent got something nice to say.....)

We always use a stock RB26dett head gasket, stock rings for turbo and chrome rings for turbo/NOS., standard mains and big ends and we've never had a failier (touch wood)  Rob
P.S. You can't use a RB25det head gasket.

RB30et gasket will be fine with a R32 series head or a modded R33 series head.
