2HOT2 Handle 2006
« on: December 06, 2005, 12:59:55 PM »
The World Class 2HOT2 Handle motor show, street sprints, exhibition and display is coming up again in Wellington on the weekend of April 8-9 2006 (the week before Easter). This time we are planning even more spectacular track events including a special fire breathing night session and featuring two jet cars.

This is an invitation to your car club to attend the show and display vehicles in the pits area, which next year will be under cover on the ground level car park. We are providing:

A dedicated roped off area in the pits
24-hour security on site from the time you deliver and collect your vehicle
Two free entry passes for two days for each car
A range of accommodation options as negotiated by 2HOT2 Handle
Areas for club meetings on the Stadium’s Level 2 West and Eastern lounges
A 2HOT2 Handle “Goodies Bag” including generous discount vouchers

We recognised and have addressed some of the problems we faced in the car club area last Easter. The pits will be a major area of attraction with lots of action and interest with the track race vehicles drawing people into this area. The big limitation is power for spotlights, but generators can be arranged at the club’s expense if required.

If your club wants to use the stadium lounges you will need to book your times with us. These will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis. We can arrange stadium catering if this is required. Stadium rules do not allow any food or beverage to be brought into the facility.

We look forward to you joining us for a bigger, brighter and more exciting 2006 HOT2 Handle on Saturday and Sunday of April 8-9. Email me or telephone if you have any further queries or want to book space.

Regards

Is this the car show last year that had the club stands in the dark area of the carpark building?  Low profile and security risks?  If so are there changes planned in the layout?

Yes it was Hayden and I believe changes were being made after last years, so we were told last year anyway.

Otherwise it was an awesome show :)

Would be good to get everybody along.

Hey - yes we realise that the club area last time was not good and we are making changes.  The pits area this time will be in the ground level car park, and there is loads of room there for club displays as well.  Unfortunately we can't do a lot about having great lighting, but there is more room for generators to be brought in. Being with the pit crews means there will be lots more people around, more activity, and we will be making sure the signage is way better.  Also the security.

We thought we didn't do too badly for a first event - but will definitely do better next time!

Hope to see you there...

Who would be keen on this. I have contacted Kristie and she is sending me out an info pack. It sounds like they have sorted the security and patron issues.

I'm sorta 50/50 at the moment..
Last one was awesome for everyone but the car clubs! lol.
The event overall is well worth it though, just seeing the jet car was worth it :)
Wouldn't mind racing!
Regards,
Angus.

Better control and better guidance when it comes time to leave as well may be required.  That's where Canman did his front spoiler isn't it due to following the guidance of some security guys in which way to go?  It was the first one last time though so there are always areas highlighted for improovement :)  As long as they address those then sweet.

The area we had was pretty big which was great!
Problem was no one knew where we were lol. Also no lighting and our club was told there were to be no show displays just the cars (which wasn't the case). I should know as I helped with distribute all the information to all the clubs and organised the SDU Stand...
Had some wicked cars to as in Russels Nur and Fraser Vspec II.

There is still some bad vibes from show so I think the clubs that participated should get a discount or something!
Only because it definitely wasn't worth having our car locked up all weekend. Also Frasers carbon fibre lip got smashed because the security guards directed us out the back where there was a big drop! next minute...

Please know that under good organisation this show will be fantastic and definitely one to take all the family too! :)
Awesome cars on display and the drags are really wicked too.
Highlight is definitely the Jet cars, can never get enough of them :D
Regards,
Angus.

I would have to agree with anguss on this iam also 50/50 on this one I was very dispointed last year how clubs area was oganised and the event got run in respect of clubs, we payed good money to have our cars on show and we got a bad area security wasnt what it should of been either given the level of cars that were on club displays.
Personaly I feel there has to be more on offer than 'sorry it will be better this year' for me to pay to have my car on show at this event again discounted prices would be a start..
