EXCELLENT!

Another 32 4dr project car! Join the club!
RB26DE, *excellent* choice. Will be something different, and should sound amazing. My advice - if you can't weld, take a welding course, it will allow ideas and skills to come together to build what you really want.

Color - hmm.... I'm painting mine with house paint, so can't offer concrete advice on carpaint, but color / desiign wise, I have a woman-thing to advise, so fire away! lol

Look forward to seeing progress. PS - I like your style of stripping. Sound deadening (if you do it) - dry ice, and then for the remaining tarry residue, first heatgun/scraper, then De-Solv-It or similar strong solvent.

Loving these N/A projects! Stripping is hard work, but a lot more fun when you enguage the Monster Garage style! I got lucky when I found my 2 door project car. I think I was looking for about 12 months before I found a suitable one.
What ya aiming to buid it for? Street, strip, race, rally ;)?

Hey you got a good looking K&N panel filter there too. Might want to hang onto that...

Oh, and advice from experience;

Don't rush with engine installs. It's annoying to discover you have to spend ten mins putting on the oil filter instead of one minute, or half an hour to do the clutch pedal, rather than ten minutes. Make sure you have as little as possible to connect when you go to drop the motor in.

I found it easier to do assemble motor+box outside the car, then drop in as one. Easier to line up clutch etc and get the bellhousing bolts, etc, properly tightened.

If you dye the carpet it will be tough to match it to the car. What kind of red did you have in mind, dark or bright? I would only dye the carpet a very dark red. Anything bright will look naff.

so what are your plans for the motor ? are you gonna put 25de pistons in it to get the compression up ? cos 26's are 8.5 to 1 so not all that great for n/a performance, also saying that the autech ones got bout 220hp with the low compression

Oh what i wouldn't do for that R31, looks Tuff as.

Now i'm again having second thoughts. Should i leave the carpet out and just have it stripped, and go for the light weight look???.

Hmmmm the choices.

Oh well first of I'll be getting dry ice soon, should be fun. I can't be bothered chipping sound deadening anymore. My last skyline made my fingers bleed. lol
