Do you know anyone with a workshop that would let you use their spin wash?

They come out pretty much like new

Take it to a engine re conditioner and get it dipped and pressure washed. A water blaster wont get inside the water/oil galleries or the ports very well. Only decent way to get all that old crap off.

A normal one will work, but will require manual labour.
A spin wash is basically an oversized dishwasher (which will also work if you can sneak it in there lol)

Pams oven cleaner is great for heads. Only leave on for 15 mins or so then flush it off.

Worked a treat for me.
