I am looking at replacing fake Nismo bonnet on my car.

At the moment looking at these options. What do you think?

1) Nismo R-tune

2) Stock
Stock aluminium bonnet

3) Top Secret

4) V Spec 2
Same as stock bonnet but CF + NACA duct

5) Car Shop F1 GTR

It depends on if you are looking at looks or function.

The V-spec 2 NACA duct helps to remove hot air from around back of turbo's (hot air builds up in that area). If going to use car on racetrack, fit a V-spec-2 bonnet or at least add a NACA duct to bonnet that doesn't have one.

Also a genuine Z-tune bonnet has a duct under bonnet for airbox (above airbox) -

im pretty sure its not "removal" of hot air, more of "intake" of cold air, judging from the direction of the NACA duct. Plus in general, that part of the bonnet is not a low pressure area anyway.

Good point, as NACA duct looks more straightish when out of car, but I think air changes direction at end of NACA duct when installed into bonnet.

The way I understand how it works is cool air goes into NACA duct and hot air around back of engine bay / turbo gets forced down and out the back of engine bay (that's what I mean by removal of hot air). Without NACA duct it probably would be slower to remove hot air in that area (builds up) and shape of engine bay doesn't help.

On R35 GTR they improved upon that setup by shaping back of engine bay with V shape and 2x NACA ducts.

On some cars you'll notice people put aluminium plates on back of exhaust manifold (back of engine bay) to channel air away from heater hoses, etc when running aftermarket equal length exhaust manifolds. If don't, some have had heater hoses fail, leaked onto hot exhaust manifold and caused a engine bay fire on racetrack.

But you have turbo's, etc infront which slows down removal of hot air from back of engine bay.

Nismo R-Tune looks best IMO, but go for what you like the best, it's your car our opinions shouldn't matter if you like it.. Either way, congrats on the '34 GTR purchase!
