5 stud hub rears ball joint.
« on: June 12, 2013, 04:19:22 PM »
I got a set of 5 stud hubs awhile ago and all the aftermarket arms seem to join on by a spherical bush joint. Now I took the rear hubs into autolign but they seem to think that the spherical bushes that fit all the joints arent the same size as the ball joints, so they're going to have to make custom ones. Can anyone confirm the legitimacy of this or any alternatives?

maybe i don't get what you're saying but the spherical end goes on the subframe end and the open end on your hub carrier.  You gotta press the ball joint out and put bushes in the hub carrier

Yeah that's what I mean but Autolign is saying that where the ball joint is, is not the same size spherical bush as the others so they don't stock any nolathane ones for it. So it's going to have to be custom made which will be a lot more $$$.

So after a whole week I get a call today saying that they still think they're a different size and they can't even press the ball joint out cause the hub needs to be taken apart and he literally said they just can't be f**ked doing it!! Poor effort autolign.

Some bs about not fitting the press. Went in today to pick them up. Dumb fwits were taking the measurement from a circlip. How fd up is that. Won't be going back ever. Need to find some stiff bushes stat.

Should be the same size at the camber arm bushings on the hub. Nolathane do them they are 2 steped peices that fit in from either side with a crush tube in the middle.
