Tie Rod lengths?
« on: September 07, 2014, 12:40:30 PM »
Hey guys

Have a bit of trouble with my steering rack. The difficulty is that one side has more travel than the other, and thus one of the tie rods was maxed out. I figured it was due to just being off centre. However now with the rack (R33 non Hicas unit) centred with 66.5mm each side on the rack to tie rod start, it is still maxed out on the right side. Measured the tie rod lengths to the socket and the left is 230mm and the right is 242mm. Is this the source of my problems or are they meant to be different lengths?

Cheers Ben

Judging by this link, of which I have a spare one from there put aside, they are infact the same.

But some more confirmation would be good!
