Is this an LSD or open diff?
« on: November 24, 2015, 02:53:37 PM »
So I have an S13 project im working on these days.
Pulled the diff out last night, the build plate says its an R180 with 4.1 ratio.
Once I cracked the cover it doesnt look like other open diffs I see pics of.
Could this be an R180 LSD? They were definitely an option on the 1992 Qs silvia from new.

after doing a bit of research I'm pretty sure it's an LSD

If I spin the driveshaft flange by hand both axle flanges spin the same way

But if I spin the axle on its own the other side spins the opposite way.

Seems like LSD aye? Would be good if someone could confirm.

Thanks.

If you spin one axle and the other spins the SAME way it is an LSD, if it spins the OPPOSITE way it is NON LSD.

R180 LSDs are quite hard to find
