Fast 'N Furious Movie night
« on: June 27, 2001, 09:30:18 AM »
HI all, reading through the general area threads, someone mentioned the fast N furious movie, and I thought it might make for a different thing for us to do one night ( when the movie comes out in NZ)

What I thought might be a good idea was to get a group of interested people together to go to the movie and have dinner at the horse and trap, eithor before, or after the movie.  Any one interested?

I have been thinking......I know, I know...be carefull aye

Anyway, we have a fast internet connection at work, so I might have a go in the next day or 2 of getting Fast and the Furious via winmx or morpheus.

After that I can convert to VCD and burn to a couple of CDS.

I then have a DVD/VCD player which we can hook up somewhere, and wolla, SDU premier of Fast and the Furious.

:p

depends on the quality of how it appears at this end though.  If it isn't as good as the original, which I have experienced with a few vcd's, then I'd prefer to hold off and wait for the full theatre experience later in the year.  Nothing like full on full theatre digital sound, and on a full on screen.  Admittedly we could get a data, show projector, I can probably organise a high end one with huge resolutions possibilities, and get some one with a really good pro logic system stereo, but how comparable would it be?  I had a thought about finding out more about the performace car magazines interest in hosting a premier night.  Maybe we could combine the two and head along to their premier.  It would help them in numbers to gain the critical amount needed to make in feasible, and save us a bit of hassle as well.  What say you guys?

Don't get excited guys, it isn't going to happen, 2 reasons:

2 - 1/2 the world is trying to d/l the movie also

now worries GSR. Either way I am sure it will be one hell of a night.

Until then I still have GT2 to thrash cars to the wall :headbutt:
