My Rb26 S13
« on: December 08, 2010, 02:51:16 PM »
Well its been awhile since i've done a build thread or update on my car.

Short story the A31 has been ditched, weighed up costs on re-vin, cert, wof, reg, insurances every year on that sort of car that i could have more fun putting the money into a competitive S13 shell and compete in so events. mainly drift.

So i brought this shell for 650

had it just over a month now and it gets attacked most weekends when i can to get it preped for a cage and some stiffening.

BEFORE

AFTER

Sound deadening has all been removed and just have to clean last of the glue off

All my Running gear from the A31 will go into it. had a late one last night and done the front end.

A31 crossmember and mounts, S14 steering rack and arms and hubs, adjustbale castor arms, R32 GTR brakes and drilled and vented discs, 25mm Spacers, Sifida Braided brake lines, JIC FLT-A2 adjustable suspension. Solid Steering bush.

Rear Shimmed LSD but will go to locker, Lock collars for subframe mounts, GTR brakes and discs. adjustable Camber Traction and need to get toe rods, 25mm spacers, sifida braided lines. These are still in the A31 but will be shifted over soon.

Yeah i will keep it updated. got a few people on board to help out with the build, local panel and paint shop i worked for is "sponsor" if you'd like to call it that. i can store car there, use hoists and chassis straighteners spray booth and advice from them. and friends brother is a auto sparky and going to re-wire the whole car to minimal needed for track.

Wanted a S13 more than anything else, was planning on a S13.4a conversion but for now i want it ready for next season so i think it'l just be a sidebody BN sports Blister S13 for now. had many 180sx offers and s14's but didnt want them and finally found the shell. just had a mission to New Plymouth to pick it up.

Nah dont do a 13.4a conversion ... keep it as is and just make it minta, sweet score on the "sponcer" and what not.makes life easy and cheaper when you have the right contacts. Haha gotta love car missions. great fun sometimes, other times not so much.

Id have to agree with D1LEMA there u kant make them look much better than just keeping them original and tidy..Thats why they put the s13 front on a lot of other things lol..but that only my opinion.
I see you have the headlights still in your cefiro shell wanna sell them?

That s13.4 is awesome! The facelift front suits it so well and would be so unique.

yeah there's a few floating around the world. and i think only one ever done in NZ, it was for sale not to long ago on trade me. a fair bit of work to get the guard lines all lined up though, i've researched the crap out of it!
I think that car looks nice cause its maintained the factory 2 tone lines and paint colour. Plus those rims are a 1 off custom made wheel.

Do you know how much the car went for on trademe?

Yeah I was gonna ask about the wheels, the rears look sick! My mate found a site where you can choose from various designs and stuff and get custom wheels made, made in china though :/

I know of a guy who is doing an S13.5, wonder how that will turn out hmmmm

EDIT:

Dont think it suits tbh, the front just looks to fat and round for the rest of the car, lots I found on google looked a bit front heavy, done on 180sx looks a bit better though

nah the S15 front doesn't suit the S13.

So i was tired last night after a late night doing all the front work from the night before. and with a Miter10 Mega christmas function opening i was not feeling like working on the car last night when i got home. but i mounted the solid steering bush and removed the steering wheel and boss kit from the A31. and carried on cleaning some of the sound deadening glue from the floor

Whoa that S13.4 looks amazing, still, love the wide bodied S13.
This one in NZPC a couple of issues ago is stunning.
