I agree with tube and fin, have run my HDI tube and fin on my car for 3 years now, good cooling and low pressure drop.  If you look on the inside of both, you shall see that the tube and fin looks less restricted.  And as above they are lighter than bar and plate.

Like said in link above, the real test of a intercooler is when car is pushed hard.

The coolant to air intercoolers seem to be the best in high hp applications. But they are said to be dragstrip use only.

Here's a boost graph from HDi showing a 1.4psi increase in boost level -

http://www.hybrid-power.com/GTSPEC%20INTERCOOLR/boost.jpg

Also at 23psi HDi GT intercooler with 600mmX300mmX78mm dimensions has a 0.5-1psi pressure drop (I assume with stock turbo?).

17rwkw (23rwhp) gain on a stock R33 with no changes to tune on ECU -

Good information guys, looks like I will be going with the tube and fin fmic. Will do the radiator at the same time due to previous owner running up the *** of a 4w4.

If your going to fit a surge tank you can keep your stock fuel pump. I would run a Bosch 044 external fuel pump as they flow alot more fuel then a walbro external fuel pump.

I'm not aware of anybody who sells front facing pleninum intercooler pipes.. You will most likly need to get them made, or get your new intercooler pipes modified to suit.

Progress on the car.

The hicas lock bar is in, going for a alignment tomorrow at 9am. Took me a good hour and a half to get the rack off the tie rod ends were a bitch to crack off. Will throw a picture up tonight when I get home. I can already notice a massive difference in not having the hicas system a lot more predictable/fun.

FMIC has arrived so we'll see if there is enough time this weekend to put it in or test fit it. Replaced the rear brake pads today as old ones were looking a bit abused, also put some anti squeal padding on the front brake pads which seem to have done the trick.

As I promised would put a picture of the assembled lock bar.

Just a tip - changing to a lock bar can be considered a suspension modification in need of certification so depending on who does your warrants they make ask for a cert.

Mine was painted black when I got it and I've never had any issues, even through VTNZ as it looks factory.
