Whats wrong with d2's? They are decent not the best but good. Plus they are easy to rebuild and have high spring rates for track driving.

D2s can't be rebuilt from my knowledge. They're prone to **** themselves, blow out. There's no actual standards for them - the ones quoted in their advertising are for consistancy - not quality. People are selling them for profit at 1000$ a piece when you can't buy BCs for much less than 1200$ from the supplier (and you get what you pay for).

I wouldn't put D2s on the chair i'm sitting on.

Shocks can leak if they hit the bumpstops when car is lowered. Common problem when using stock shocks with lowered springs and not adjusting shock (bumpstops, valving, etc) to suit.

Some shocks can screw into bottom of shock which stills retains stock travel in main part of shock, so shocks never hit the bumpstops.

As long as you set the ride height higher, don't see a problem with using D2 suspension.

Maybe BC's aren't in a much better boat. Only thing Ive realised with them is that they have a better build quality. But from what Ive seen and heard and tested D2's have a better performance. So its a trade off between reliability or greater performance. But adjusting ride height properly in the D2's can fix the blow out problem. I mean if you are going to spend more just spend alittle more and go down the HKS path one of the best sets of coil overs Ive seen. My mate has the Hipermax III on the supra god they are good. Stay away from Tein imo they are worse than the copies and they have sloppy suspension. For my Z this time im probably going to go down the Driftworks or HSD Coilover path never tried them so im intrigued how they will perform.

D2s are chinese. BCs are Taiwanese.. Significantly different quality.
