If we're comparing Ford Australia + America + Europe to Holden Australia - then Holden Australia should also have Pontiac, Chevy, Vauxhall AND Holden Australia. All owned by the same company. Ford Australia is different to Ford America and different again to Ford Europe, but held under the Ford Brand.

Much like the common misconception the GT40 is American - it is not, was made by Ford Europe.

The big block V8 is American, the rest of the car is European.

if you call the car european based on the fact that it has lola involvement, it makes just as much sense as me claiming it is american because of american V8 - i'd consider it american, 1) without henry ford II's direct commitment to have it built, there wouldnt be gt40, 2) as you say, its american ford v8, and 3) competition success came after carroll shelby's involvement in the programme, who is an american.

America is made up of different cultures from europe, etc. Part of the car industry (Detroit, etc) is based around where I noticed the Germans? settled.

The Camaro is built in Canada with engines that were built in Mexico. The LS1 was designed by Australians, the chassis was designed under the Zeta Chasis' which was built by Holden Australia and designed by Holden Australia. And looks wise - the head designer was a Korean..

So where's the Camaro from? America. Why? Because it's under GM America. The Camaro is an American car.

The Ford GT40 was built under Ford Europe performance devision.

Also, the V8 argument is silly, because the Detomaso Pantera has the same motor, but it is most definitly not American. But hey.

All I was saying is we should keep this Ford Australia Vs Holden Australia

Depends on the motor. Some Holden motors are built by Chev, some by Holden themselves. Opel is the Euro side of Holden. That is an epic fail. Just like the Euro fords are an epic fail.

Holden and Ford really are just crap. They are only good for transporting a mullet around.
