Any Kiwi's rolling in Aus??
« Reply #15 on: September 18, 2012, 02:21:47 PM »
Small update... I got the GTR and I will post some pictures up this weekend. Came with a carbon fibre bonnet as well but I will most likely sell that, I wanna keep it clean looking - but it is a nice bonnet!!

only thing I have done so far is replaced the wheels with some new temp wheels I picked up cheap until I can save up for the ones I really want, steering wheel from my old Skyline that I kept and the stereo from my Celsior that I recently got. Just signed up for membership so I will be rocking the SDU stickers soon :D

Picked her up in September 2012,

what I've done
18x10 Matt Black rims- Rota GR6, rubber 245/45 - Kics Racing Lock and nuts
Jun front lip
Carbing cooling plate (diversion plate)
GTR car mats
Momo Steering wheel
DVD Single Din Flip Screen - new speakers all round
SRI B Pillar
Full Service
Full Detail

apart from that nothing else has been done by me - all done previously in Japan

So really at the moment I am just adding personal touches and cleaning her up.... she was littered with stickers before and had crap tint other than that this car is straight as and it amazes me how in good nick it is :) Only real thing I had to do is get the throttle linkages calibrated and adjust the TPS as it tripped out on me recently.

Next will be get a boost gauge as it doesn't have one ??? and running 22psi (on stage 4 of the Blitz boost controller, I want to know it is not spiking) it has a couple of omori gauges on the dash, oil press and EGT - going to remove those and grab a pillar pod and run the boost and oil press in that.
Then I will be looking into a new standalone ECU as the HKS FCON V-PRO is hard and expensive to get tuned here.
But apart from that I have just ordered a Kansai Services front strut bar and Blitz Racing Radiator Type ZS - so in they go next month.

Lots to do just need the cash :S

Man that GTR is nice. Do you have much trouble from the cops there? I hear of a lot of aussies that get harassed even when they are not troublemakers or anything.

well what you can and can't do in the way of mods is different to NZ so getting used to that is the first hurdle... cops haven't given me in grief yet, and I have had a couple behind me that I thought might do one of their "routine checks" but nope... I used to get pulled up more in my Toyota Celsior here in Brisbane which began to get annoying. Plus they have introduce the strictest anti-hoon laws in Australia now 2nd strike and your car is crushed. Not that I am a hoon but it seems like it gives the cops more power to be to dish it out to enthusiasts :S

oh and thanks guys :) - will try and get some proper pics up soon!

yeh.. that was supposedly what they were running, some Hi-Flow Greddy Turbo's, and I don't have anymore info than that as it was an import.

it has since been turned back a bit and is now running 18psi on stage 4 after the install of a boost/vac gauge and oil press

other mods are:

  • Cusco Coil Over,Strut Brace & Caster Arms,
  • Adjustable Rear Camber Linkages,
  • Hicas (4WS) Locked Out,
  • Os Giken 5 speed Gear Set, Altered Ratios,
  • Exedy 650hp Twin Plate Clutch,
  • HKS Pod Filters in Insulated Air Box,
  • Cold Air Intake,
  • Remote Oil Filter,
  • Iridium Plugs,
  • Blitz Blow Off,
  • Blitz 4 stage Electronic Boost Controller,
  • HKS F-Con Pro Engine Management, With Launch Control,
  • Self Adjusting Turbo Timer,
  • 3.5'' Stainless Pipe Turbos Back,Hi-Flow Cat,
  • Kakimoto front pipe
  • Adjustable Cam Gears,
  • HKS Timing Belt,
  • Clear Greddy Cam Cover,
  • Polished Pipe Work,
  • Rear Wheel Drive Switch,
  • Dragger FMIC
  • Carbing Air Diversion Plate

and finding more everytime I take it into the shop :)

52mm Autometer ES gauges - clean and simple gauges nothing over the top.

recently installed after wanting a clean looking dash with no gauges on it, removed Omori Gauges - Oil Press & EGT

thanks breakzmaker
-nothing like a mint R32 _ mine is an import I would recommend http://www.importmonster.com.au/

they are a good bunch! ~ for an import you are looking around high 18k to 19k mark for a standard mint R32 GTR (maybe a few decent mods as you would expect) that is usually their starting range.

You can find some decent ones on Carsales but most are in another state apart from QLD for some reason... and usually in VIC which is a long trip down and back or a $1200 shipping cost (branch to branch)

-where abouts in Brizzy are you from, well hope you get R32 GTR soon buddy...will have to go for a cruise when you do, there is another bloke on here that has one in Brisbane that I haven't caught up with... I rock the SDU stickers on my rear quarter windows, raises some smiles from the SAU boys sometimes :P

Here is another one from the other weekend at Queensland Raceway..
