I was about to say, The afm might not be good. I was trying to see if it was a turbo one or not, which have a IAT sensor inside them. You can "run" and turbo one to find out, But the could tension might be different.

When AFM fails on a R32 it can make engine idle at around 1500rpm when cold or hot.

Quote
Forgot to mention, car has what looks like a VK or VL commy radiator wonderfully hori'd up with cable ties and flexi hose. Temp gets to about quarter, then drops cruising at 100 or going downhill.

But running rich, higher idle rpm could be due to the upgraded radiator keeping coolant temps too low (ECU stays on warmup tables). You are meant to retune ECU (warmup tables) to suit when coolant temps are lower with lower temp thermostat. But in this case radiator might be too big.

You would need to see what the voltage is from coolant temp sensor via multimeter to confirm the above.

Also idle rpm might be set too high as well, which adds to the problem.

Sometimes high idle can be caused by sticky or faulty IACV or choke on dash if it's a pre 80's Nissan.

Not a hotwire AFM on these, Older flap resistance.

Upgraded ratiators wont do to much with these. Thermostat will control those temps. He has a new Coolant temp sensor installed.

Auto choke on these ECU's Very basic system

Final thought, wouldn't be anything to do with the TPS? Last thing I'm gonna try, then it's for sale, I can't afford to spend money on a daily, especially seeing as I've taken a pay cut of $4 an hour just to keep myself in a job.
