C33 Laurel, RD28 To RB20DET
« on: June 17, 2013, 02:02:46 PM »
Hi Guys

Im looking for my first project, and i have come across a very tidy RD28 laurel. I am basically wanting to do a RB20DET conversion. I have heard it can be hard due to needing new looms, fuel tank etc. Is anyone able to specify what i will actually need to complete the swap, from wo to go.

Cheers

That is a mission, you need to change all your fuel lines etc. Better to start off with a petrol version to be honest

Petrol Tanks and lines arent too hard to find depending on where in the country you are, parts of the S.I they are dime a dozen :)

especially if you can pick up a tidy RD28 for not much,

other than that you would need the obvious, Motor, loom, ECU, Gearbox (providing you want it manual haha), buying a whole manual conversion kit is probably the best and easiest way to go, exhaust, intercooler kit, and then CERT, so may pay to do any suspension mods like adjustable suspenions, adjustable arms while you're at it. Oh plus the 100 or so little things that will pop up along the way hahaha

Nothing better than the feeling of hitting boost.......................and still thinking you have control!!
