R32 GTR bumper on GTST
« on: February 10, 2014, 10:29:55 PM »
So I went to buy one for my GTST and was told the sides of the GTR bumper will stick out either side of my guards as they aren't as wide as the GTR ones. Has anyone fitted a GTR bumper on before? What do I need to do?

I know I will have to cut the reinforcement bar. Just not sure whether I can maybe get away with forcing the GTR bumper inwards to bolt up

Or a fibreglass copy one made for the gtst? They are available.

You've been told right
You can force it, but it will still bulge out between the indicator and wheel arch.
Don't forget... GTR guards are 25mm wider than GTS at the widest point, while it isn't that extreme where the bumper meets the guard, it's still a significant difference!
For a perfect fitment you'll need GTR guards or a replica bumper designed for GTS fitment :)

Yeah I have been reading though that some have gotten it to fit by moving the reinforcement forward by 10mm or so.

That was what I went to look at and Ryan said it won't fit GTST

I can afford an R32 GTR now after working my *** off these holidays. However I've decided to save up more for a house instead and keep the GTST!

They do however make a GTR one to fit the GTS-t definitely. At least they did.

The GTR fibreglass front bumper above is probably from Aerotech -

Genuine is better and it does fit. The mount holes need to be drilled 10-20mm or so forward on the bumper support. When you put the bumper on, you'll see it sticks into the archway 10-20mm or so near the fender. The sides have to be pushed in a little bit more than it would on a R32 GTR.

Another way is genuine R32 GTR bumper support + GTR bumper, genuine R32 GTR front fenders with new washers.

Aerotech prices are nuts! Must be awesome quality though but too much for me to be honest.

Yeah I found a guy on facebook that can do one to suit GTST.

Haha no it won't but if I get my foot in the housing market, I don't need to worry about selling my GTR to fund a house and can get one when I'm financially comfortable

The aerotech ones are awesome. I have a factory plastic GTR bumper on mine, fit isin't perfect but you hardly notice it.
