370cc injectors into rb25de
« on: December 15, 2014, 07:19:49 PM »
1,Would it make any difference or affect the performance by using det-370cc injectors in my rb25de instead of the stock 260cc-de injectors ,
2, what else would be needed they are stock so should fit the fuel rail ,
3, would it need a remap ?
any ideas and thoughts
Thanks

Well, they are bigger so they are not drop in, you will need a tune. Also I believe the 25de is top feed so would take more modification to make the side feed work, and are arguably worse than top feed.

they are both side feed and both fuel rails are the same size ,
it has the same block as the det the inlet mani has the same fitting size ,more the point i was really wondering ,was will they run as the standard injector do, if there is no remap even thought they have the capacity for more flow .eg regulator and fuel pump are stock so should still flow the same rates that the engine management ask it too ,theoretically ...
The reason I ask is if I'm correct its a job i can knock out of the way this weekend so I don't have to do it when I +t after xmas..

I wouldn't expect to see too much in the way of performance gains, unless your RB25DE is making big power the injectors won't be any where maxing out. My GTS25 is only using 60% of it's duty cycle and making 120rwkw.

With out sounding like an ass no is the answer to 1. And no the ecu will not controll fuelling the same as the factory ones. It'll need the fuel table tuned. Injectors aren't linier so there's no simple mathematical equasion too scale the entire map to run them. Basically waste of time unless you have a way of controlling them and most likely un needed.

as Rach said, you won't get any gain from swapping the injectors unless you are maxing them out (which i doubt if you are NA). you would gain more in getting the car tuned to run the bigger injectors then you would from the injectors themselves.

Ok this is not about getting more hp right now but wondering if they will work like standard .so its a job I can knock off before I do the plus t after xmas  .but im picking what you're saying is that I have to still tune it to run properly if I did this in advance. Just for my info what would happen if I did do this and install them would the flow just be increased and basically drown the engine.

Basically yup it'll run rich either keep fouling plugs or worse bore wash the motor rendering it useless
