ECR32 4dr Skyline Build (Now HNR32)
« on: May 19, 2015, 01:47:04 PM »
This is my car. It's got a RB25DET and a RB25DET big box waiting to go in. Just doing little touches to engine bay before engine goes in. Just posting here to keep a sort of log on what I'm doing to give me motivation to actually finish this thing. Had it two weeks so far, two weeks rain, two days painting engine bay. Needs one or two things ticked off the list to be ready to run (minor, oil return for turbo, fuel pump, etc). As I said, just going to be for progress so will be trying to keep text to a minimum and just have all posts being pictures..

That's it for now. Will update with photos later when something more interesting happens.

Great work so far mate! The white painted engine bay looks mint! Hopefully it doesn't get to dirty :P

Cheers, yeah whole car will be going white as soon as I get it running (to be able to drive to paint booth). Just trying to keep it as simple as possible for now. Decided to service the engine while its outta the car, cambelt, tensioners, waterpump etc etc. So putting engine in has been delayed.

Back into it with another shell, this time a 4WD GTST... much better starting point. Decided to stick with the 4wd and will sell off the big box (anyone interested? PM me) and grab myself a GTR box. Owned by an old lady for the last 15 years, owned by a retard with a spraycan before that... attacked alot of the car with gay blue paint. Replaced some of the trims he/she/it has painted with original ones but still many left to replace.. Back to saving!

Removed some useless wiring from the GTS4. Unused alarm, wiring to all the speakers to which only one worked. Will rewire it all later down the track when license is back + I have a proper head deck for it. $2 speakers will also be replaced.

Small update on the new GTS4. One being someones already tried to steal it and has chipped the top of the passengers side glass. Another being that I've now acquired a R32 GTR gearbox, an alloy flywheel, clutch release bearing, etc etc most of the stuff ready for manual conversion. Need to choose a clutch and snap up a clutch fork and we'll be good to go. Have purchased a set of R33 GTR Wheels along with a set of cusco adjustable suspension. Need to roll the guards and get it sitting right. All in good time. Will get some pics tomorrow when suns up. Going to look pretty decent! Can't wait for license back + manual conversion. Getting me giddy

Just a set of pics from when it was running. Putting feelers out for a RB26DETT now if anyone has one lying around? Also looking for a R32 GTR front bumper + lip. Looking for a couple other little bits & pieces also (e.g Manual centre console etc.).

My bikes gearbox (which was my daily) gave up the ghost, I was so guttered. So when I got home I just started ripping into the skyline.. Opps.

First thing I see after touching the skyline for about 5months...

Nearly out...

Gets too dark too quick now-days

Basically where it's sitting now, prepping the block for acid dip hone deck etc and then will install with new bearings, rings, cambelt, tensioner, idler, gaskets, headgasket, etc etc etc. Will be manual converting at the same time with a lightweight flywheel, sprung 6puck clutch, gtr gearbox. Am also removing HICAS while I'm at it and replacing all the CV boots etc while the subframes been dropped. Gonna be good fun getting the engine back in there... love 4WD.... heh.

Have you got a GTR gearbox? If you go down to Joe' s Mechanical he has my old Stagea which the new owners have written off - its got an RB30 with GT3540 on a Sinco Manifold with new clutch and R33 GTR gearbox (and GTR diff and axles). I think they are looking to re-shell it but I have always thought it would be fun to stick all the componenents in a GTS4.

Yeah got a R32 GTR box, would love to tax some parts from it though. Sounds like it's got some good shit on it. GT3540 on a 20det... hah...
