How Wide Can I go?
« on: July 01, 2015, 12:18:08 PM »
Hey fellow wagon lovers

I'm trying to find the rite sort of mag to fit my stag but need to know how wide can we go on the back axle???
Looking at going 19s and have tried some but they stick out the guard.
What's the biggest and best offset n width I can go?

Thanks Aaron

Depends on how big a hammer you have. I had 17 x 9 with 255 tyres which was the best fit also had 18 x 8.5 but I used a guard roller and then a hammer to get more room. Offset depends on what suspension you have and how much it is lowered. Offset I think I had plus 30 but with 20mm spacers so it depends on what width and how low etc. I would say +10 would be a starting point but you need to decide what you want and then dummy it up so see if it will work.

I'm running 18x9.5 +22 offset with 235/40 tyres. Pokes a little but have had no guard rub and haven't touched the guards.

without touching the guards about 9.5 is the max rim width with the correct offset in a 19, maybe a p35 18x10 will just fit at stock height, if its been lowered you will need to correct the rear camber or the tire/mag edge can easily touch the rear shox body, you can fit 255 maybe a 265 depends on diameter and profile, the max diameter I found is 255/40/19 or it will rub on everything 255/35 265/35 are better clearances, the rears the problem not the front, and this is from mucking about with a 260rs.... standard stags apparently have a different rear track?? westybob will know how different the rear sub-frames are as I think he put a gtr rear frame in his rb30 wagon?
