Clutch not engaging
« on: October 27, 2016, 10:37:31 AM »
Having problems with my gts4 with gtr box, clutch isn't engaging? Had the car idling and it was selecting gears without clutch in, doesn't move with clutch in/out at all. New clutch, new spigot bush, new release bearing, clutch aligned. Could the gearbox be suspect?

Have you checked/bled hydraulics? Get someone to push the pedal down and see if the push rod moves - could be leaking/stuffed mastercylinder or slave cylinder.

Fork is moving, gravity bled clutch till fluid came from slave and then bled from master cyl, good pedal pressure,  pulled box back out and spline changes resistance with each gear so gearbox is good (?). Stumped.

Did it work when you first replaced it or has it never worked with new set up? If so points to wrong clutch or release bearing.

What would be a giveaway that's it's the wrong clutch? 9 bolt 240mm as opposed to the 250mm flywheel that's on there (if that makes any difference?). Clutch was brought in with a bunch of parts from the states that a friend of mine ordered.. will give him a buzz and see what's up.
